Kid Logic Friday - Song Writing

Molly loves to sing and sings many of her own songs.  Well the other day she was singing one of her made up songs in the car, Mom asked her if she wrote that song.  Molly's reply was, "No, I can't write yet."

Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.  Psalm 149:1

Five Dollar Fine

This has always been one of my favorite signs. I finally bought one to put up in our home especially because we have been known to give fines for whining around here. What I didn't know was how much fun it would bring. When someone is tempted to whine we point to the sign (which hangs in our livingroom) and the start of a whine ends in a grin. Some of us have even been known to sing a song to go along with it - maybe you know the one :)

Martin Luther says:

"To be satisfied with what we have at present is positively a gift of the Holy Spirit."

"Nothing is better than to walk in the Word and the work of God and so
to fashion one's heart that it is quiet and satisfied with the present state of affairs. . . .
The true despisers of the world are the people who accept what God gives them,
and gladly do without them if God takes them away."

Kid Logic Friday - Glutton Free

Every once in a while, dad will come home with a bunch of treats for everyone. He knows how to bring home the party! This time he brought home cold cereal and blueberries. (It's true, cold cereal is not a normal staple at our house.) While everyone was "digging in" one of the boys commented on the new "special" cereal, "it's glutton free!" Apparently he is not familiar with the word gluten yet.

In the Cross of Christ I Glory

In the cross of Christ I glory,
there for all was grace made free.
None deserving, yet receiving,
life through death at Calvary.

In the cross of Christ I glory,
Not in power, wealth or fame.
In the cross sin's curse is broken,
for the sake of Jesus' name.

Kid Logic Friday

Dad finally got to take Molly to the zoo this week. While on the way there someone asked Molly what she was looking forward to seeing. She replied, "The penguins, unicorns, and rainbow deer!"
